Personally this can be hard to do sometimes. With work it can be don’t.

When you have regrets from the past you clearly have to take a look at them and see the positive side of where they have lead you.

Choose Happiness , not Regrets

Obviously most people look at failure as mistakes.  Guys get over this failure thing; failures are learning experience not mistakes.  I cannot even began to tell you how make time I have messed up trying to build my website and blogging business.

If 2009 was about focusing on what we lost, 2010 should be about focusing on what we have.

Many families are finding new rewards when they change their priorities.  Take for example this family that Gimundo featured.  They sold their 6,500 house for a smaller house and gave the profits on the big house to charity.

Get what you need: In 2008 it was all about the big houses, fancy cars and dining out.  In 2009 the bottom fell out of the economy.  Some of you may think that my elevator got stuck, but is the change in the economy really a bad thing? People are now taking a second look at what is really important.

While you might already have a good indication that you are suffering from low self-esteem, it might be a good idea to explore this a little further.  The more we explore our personality the closer we can be to choose happiness with all our choice we make in life.                                                       I Choose Happiness

Take this simple quiz.

Personality Self-Esteem Assessment

Directions:  Answer T if the statement is true for you.  Answer F if the statement is false for you.

T  F   I am able to discuss my good points, skills, abilities, achievements and successes with others.

T  F   I assert myself with someone whom I believe is violating or ignoring my rights.

T  F   I am content with who I am, how I act, and what I do in life.

T  F   I am not bothered by feelings of insecurity or anxiety when I meet people for the first time.

T  F   My life is balanced between work, family life, social life, recreation/leisure and spiritual life.

T  F   I am aware of the roles I played in my family of origin and have usually been able to make these
behavior patterns work for me in my current life.

T  F   I am bonded with the significant others in my environment at home, work, school, at play, or in the
community.

T  F   I am able to perform the developmental tasks necessary to ensure my ongoing healthy self-esteem.

T  F   I am satisfied with my level of achievement at school, work, home, and in the community.

T  F   I am a good problem solver; my thinking is not clouded by irrational beliefs or fears.

T  F   I am willing to experience conflict, if necessary to protect my rights.

If you selected F for three or more of the preceding questions, you probably need to work at increasing your self-esteem, so you can find your happiness within.  That’s what we’re here for!  But that comes a little later!

There are many, many indicators that a person has low-self-esteem.  Consider this list.

People with low self- esteem:

  • Consider themselves lost, unworthy of being cared for

Happy is the man that fines wisdom and the man that gets understanding.

Who are the happiest people on earth?  Here is story that I found in a newspaper from England.  They ask their readers, “Who are the happiest people on the earth?”  The winning answers were:

whatever makes you happy

A little child building a sand castle.
A craftsman or artist whistling over a job well done.
A mother bathing her baby after a busy day.
A doctor who has finished a difficult and dangerous operation that saved a human life.

Determination and belief are the starting points for happiness within.  They obviously open you to new opportunities to do and be anything you desire, and you only need a subconscious thought to plant the seed.  How do we do this?

The first and most important element to happiness within is to…

Open your Mind

It is very clearly that a closed mind seals off creative solutions and eliminates any possibility for new opportunities.  A closed mind keeps you where you are in life, where you always have been and will continue to be.  A closed mind creates:

As a parent, I found that kids don’t want “Quality time” with you.  They want “quantity.” If they could get it they want all your time.  They need interaction and communication, but just your presence there in the house means the world to them.  Just ask your kids if they would like to go to Disneyland for a week or have you around every day and night?

I did a survey on fourth graders to see what makes them happy.  Here are the answers that I received:
Happy is:  seeing my dad, seeing my mom, family reunions, seeing my cousins, seeing my uncles and aunts, my friends ,eating food, oxygen, singing, riding my bike, running, seeing my sister smile, when I get to play, good night sleep.

Who Are The Happy People and Why?

Posted by: Debbie Bills | Comments (2)

I am seeing that people really want to know why some people are happy and others aren’t.

I truly believe the answer to that question has a lot to do with ones belief in God.  I am not one that goes around professing to be a Christian, but I do know in my heart there is God and there is our Savior Jesus and because of my baptism I do have the Holy Spirit in me.  I was brought up in a Christian house hold, which I am very grateful for.   I do belong to the church that I was raised in; however I do not go to church every Sunday.  Maybe I should, because I do know that it does make your faith stronger.  The last time I was in a church was when my last grandchild was baptized.  That would be 14 months ago.  I’m bad.

I have been giving this a lot of thought and it is just too good not to pass it along.  Hope you enjoy it.  Please let me know.

Reports are always talking about the expense of having children, but they never mention the benefits.  I think it is time we take a look at the benefits of children.

Here is what the government calculates the cost of raising a child from birth to 18 for a middle income family $160,140.00.  I know that is a price shock and it doesn’t even take in the cost of college.

I was sitting there last night watching the president talk and I really had to laugh.

These politicians come into the room and are kissing and hugging each other.  What a show.  Now tell me what would happen if you had a room full of college kids that started hugging and kissing each other when they walked to their class room?  When young people go into a class room they go in to learn and get something accomplished.  Isn’t that what politicians are suppose to be doing.  Listening and getting something accomplished.
