Choose to reclaim your happiness

When is the last time you had a WOW experience in just being alive?  When we have these experiences it is like taking a break from all worries.  It is like falling in love all over again.

When we fall in love we see the bright side of everything in life.  It is like standing in a rose garden and watching all the roses bloom.  This is the way to see every new day.  Announce to yourself, “I always find the joy and happiness in life today.”

Here are 11 tips to help reclaim that happiness in life.

1. Pay attention to what is right. When walking into a room or place notice everything that is nice about the area you are in.

2. Always look for the kid in you. Notice how kids aren’t worried about things; they are just having fun playing.  Take time to learn from them and get excited and have fun.

3. Be grateful about what is in your life. Make a list of all the wonderful things; like health, family, food to eat, roof over your head, even the fresh air you have to breath and don’t forget about the hot and cold water you have at your finger tips.

4. Find time to be kind. Acts of kindness can really add happiness to anyone’s day.  Walking a dog or helping an elderly person.

5. Happiness is contagious, put on that smile. When we smile we feel happiness and it helps others to smile.  Love just seems to flow when people are smiling.

6. Run outside or walk, feel that fresh air and breathe it in. Enjoy the smells outside and the change of scenery; whether it is a warm day or a cool crisp day.

7. Take the time for your loved ones. Sometimes we get so busy with life that we forget about the most important people in our lives.  Laugh with them, talk with them.

8. Don’t forget the green in your life. It is a known fact that plants and flower add to your cheerful mood.  Place some greener in your kitchen or desk.

9. In the evening gaze up into the heaven. Take a look at the sky and see the stars.  This will make you feel more connected to the world.

10. Laugh out loud. Remember the fun and silly things in life and crack yourself up.  There is humor in many things that we just forget to see it.  Look for it around every corner.  You will love what you find.

11. Last of all, go to bed early. Get a good night rest and you will be ready for the new day and all the exciting things waiting for you.

If you have found that you have lost your happiness and joy, just refer to the list above and pick out a couple of things right now and you can find your happiness and reclaim it.

What other things help you reclaim your happiness?  Would love to hear them, just leave them in the comment box.  Thank you!

May you always be blessed with happiness!

Beautiful list Debbie. I “know” all of these. Problem is, I don’t always practice them. Thanks so much for the reminder to be more present, more attentive, more alive.

      Hi Andrew,

Laughing is one of my favorites too. If a person is feeling down find something to laugh about and it sure brings back the happy.
You my friend have a very cheerful afternoon.

  5. They always ask me how do we change the world from war to peace and prosperity. I tell them, in a Zen master sort of way, as the wind brushes against my hair, and a smile en-grains my cheekbones.
