They finally talked me into making this video and I am glad they did. In order for me to make it I did have to get the right attitude. When choosing happiness it comes down to your attitude with gratitude thrown in.
Enjoy the video and now you know that I am just a person like the rest of you and I talk from the heart.

This is a truly beautiful video Debbie – it may just be pregnancy hormones, but you made me cry (in a very good way!) you’re right – it makes such a difference in our lives when we count our blessings instead of refretting what we don’t have. The t-shirt looks amazing too

Excellent video! It is great to meet you in person. Are you sure you haven’t done other videos? You seemed very relaxed and like a natural in front of the camera.
You are right. Stuff doesn’t make you happy. If you have the basics of what you need, that should be good enough, and then get out in the world and help others. I grew up working class, not completely poor, but we didn’t have extra money for anything. I look back at those times and think, I didn’t know I was supposed to have more stuff or be unhappy with what I and we had. We had each other, and we had great dinner table debates every evening. That’s because we couldn’t afford to eat out. But I didn’t know that then. We had always eaten at home except on very special occasions.
Now that I’ve had a lucrative career for 25 years, not so much the past 7, but the first 18 years were filled with lots of money and lots of stress over the job. I don’t make as much, but I have time with my son and I spend most of my work time doing what I love–math and science. I do deliver pizzas to make ends meet in this tough economy, but that’s kinda fun too. I meet lots of cool people.
I agree with Tyler Durden from the movie, “Fight Club”, the stuff you own ends up owning you. I think the stuff you own ends up making you take more time to dust.

You are so right when you say the stuff your own takes more time to dust. I don’t like a lot of little things sitting around for that very reason. They just collect dust. When I buy furniture that is one of the first things I check out. How hard is this going to be to dust. Sound like you are taking the time to enjoy life and enjoying your son. That is wonderful.
