Laughter Therapy Brings Happiness
Posted by: | CommentsI met an amazing woman yesterday. When I asked her what she did for a job,
she told me she was a Laughter Therapist. I stared at her. And then I smiled. Imagine having that as a job title? I decided to find out more about it, so we sat down and had a good chat.
Planting for Happiness
Posted by: | CommentsHow surrounding ourselves with plants can help to make us smile and bring out the happiness!
These days, people spend a lot of time indoors at home or work, or in traffic away from green spaces. Air conditioning, improved insulation, and energy-saving measures all reduce air exchange, which can lead to health problems. We are breathing the same air over and over; but in cities and on busy roads, we are unlikely to want to bring ‘fresh air’ inside anyway. In addition, modern synthetic furnishings, computers and electrical equipment, and everyday household products such as cleaning material, emit various harmful gases in small quantities which all contribute to the recognized “sick building syndrome”
Hug Help – The Key to Happiness!
Posted by: | CommentsOne of my earliest memories is of me falling down as a child, and getting
scooped up and hugged better. Even as adults, we still crave that amazing feeling of being held closely, made to feel safe and loved, and cared about unconditionally.
Hugs are one of the best ways for two people to show to each other that they are liked and appreciated. A recent clinical study suggests that touch reduces stress and anxiety: when a subject touched the hand of a loved one, centre’s of the brain concerned with fear and danger became less active.

Research supports the mood-enhancing benefits of pets. Pets can make for happiness within, because of their giving nature and asking nothing in return.

Can we lose our happiness with a sweet poison?
Posted by: | CommentsI received this email from my hubby and I really feel the need to share it. You might say, “What does this have to do with happiness?” Anything that
affects the body or mind in the wrong way can take your happiness within away.
I have always believed that anything artificial should not be put into the body. When they first came out with artificial sweeteners I said to me and anyone that would listen, “Someday they are going to find that this is not good for you.” I believe that day has come. Sorry that is article is so long (I hate long articles, but that is me), but I feel that it is very important.
Twenty tricks for getting back to happy!
Posted by: | Comments1. Try not to spend too much time with people who are miserable
or pessimistic. Spend as much time as you can with people who are cheerful and optimistic.
2. Try to spend at least an hour every day doing something that you enjoy.
3. Take a break. Go away for a few days if you can. Don’t take work with you – and don’t tell anyone the telephone number.
4. Let yourself go occasionally. If you feel tense or uptight go outside and smash a tennis ball or football. Or dig in the garden!
Keeping faith in the power of the universe

There’s an old saying out there – ‘Put your request out to the universe, and the universe will answer it’. I thought about this idea last week, when a friend of mine got in touch and told me her story.
The joy of being childlike – Rediscovering happiness in the world

Remember when you were a child, and you saw everything with fresh eyes? When did you first see a huge lake, and imagined it was the sea? Or when you tasted a new food for the first time, spending time savoring the new flavor and textures?
Being a child is a constant adventure. Around every corner there are wonders waiting to be discovered. When we are young we learn constantly, finding new things, shaping our likes and dislikes and working out who we are and what we might become in the future. Our lives spread out before us with limitless possibilities, and we understand fundamentally that we can do, or be, anything we set our minds to. Choosing happiness around every corner.
The power of smiling revisited; for your happiness within

Have you had a good grin today? There are more reasons than you would think for smiling your head off, even when you don’t quite feel up to the task. I’m revisiting the benefits of a great smile, because it can’t be underestimated! Here’s why:
Smiling enhances our attractiveness
We are drawn to people who smile. There is an attraction factor, which means we want to know a smiling person and figure out what is so good about their lives! Frowns, scowls and grimaces all push people away, but a smile draws us in to others, because there happiness within is showing.
