FRUSTRATION ON THE ROAD TO CONTENTMENT
Audrey Biloon

What should we do with people who seem to be stumbling blocks on the road to understanding our purpose in life and the goal of feeling contented and happy each day?
How can we feel happy and contented with our lives when we meet or have to be around (though work or family) those who frustrate us?
All of us have met people, work with people, have to be around or live with people who are pains in the neck or lower down the spine. They seem to stop us from happiness within, from achieving our goals, our gifts or giving our gifts to others (or even to them). They really are determined to steal our happiness within away from us.
These may actually be people who seem to work us too hard or cause us grief in other ways. They contribute to sleeplessness, sadness, irritation, or just general frustration of unhappiness. They may seem unappreciative of our love, our caring, our talents or our abilities.
I really suggest that if we view their lack of what we feel should be a welcome response to us. We may see that the frustration, sadness, disappointment or other grief they seem to bring us may actually be a blessing in disguise. The challenges they present can be the presents, and gifts. It allows us to hone in on our talents and abilities, to bring our gifts to them and to others.
If we keep the focus on the lesson we’re here to learn from these people, the experiences we have from them will shift our position from victim to student. We can acquire gifts of character (or even talents) from those very same people; (who seem not to be a gift at all). But their one time or continued presence in our lives may be their very presents to us: “they are here to test us”.
If we’re fortunate enough to “get it”, the fact that we’re being tested! Such testing can help us to develop good character traits (such as patience, kindness and empathy or talents) we can work on ourselves to pass the test and clearly find more happiness within. In working on the test and in passing each one, each time, we can bring joy to ourselves and gifts to those who tested us along the way.
If you’d like to submit questions, I’d be glad to answer them. If you’d like to submit suggestions, I’d be glad to receive them and to put them into the next post.
Thank you for taking time to think about enjoying the contented life and preserving your happiness within.
