Choose happiness With a Slow Dance From a Dying Young Girl
By Debbie BillsThe lessons we can learn from young people are very powerful. Here is a poem written by a terminally ill young girl in a New York Hospital. She wants to see how many people get her poem.
The e-mail that I received was sent by a medical Doctor.
My reason for posting this poem she has written; number one it is beautifully written and it does illustrate what we have to be thankful for and how the little things in life are the secret to happiness.

SLOW DANCE
Have you ever watched kids on a Merry-Go-Round?
Or listened to the rain, slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly’s erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?
Don’t dance so fast. Time is short.
The music won’t last. Do you run through each day on the fly?
When you ask, How are you? Do you hear the reply?
When the day is done, do you lie in your bed with the next hundred chores
running through your head?
You’d better slow down. Don’t dance so fast. Time is short.
The music won’t last.
Ever told you child, we’ll do it tomorrow?
And in you haste, Not see his sorrow?
Ever lost touch, let a good friendship die, cause you never had time
To call and say, “Hi”
You’d better slow down. Don’t dance so fast.
Time is short. The music won’t last.
When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day,
It is like an unopened gift…
Thrown away.
Life is not a race. Do take it slower, hear the music
Before the song is over.
This young girl has 6 months left to live, and as her dying wish, she wanted to send a letter telling everyone to live their life to the fullest, since she never will. She’ll never make it to prom, graduate from high school, or get married and have a family of her own.
Let us learn from her words that we need to always choose happiness and be grateful for our health and the important things in your lives. Life is a blessing; let’s not let this young girl down. Learn to Slow Dance and realize the secret to happiness. She is showing us the way.
I do have one probably with this post and I need your help. This is what the rest of the e-mail says, “Please pass this mail on to everyone you know, even to those you don’t know! It is the request of a special girl who will soon leave this world due to cancer. By you sending this to as many people as possible, you can give her and her family a little hope, because with every name that this is sent to, The American Cancer Society will donate 3 cents per name to her treatment and recovery plan.”
Here is my e-mail address; Debbie@happymakernow.com if you would please send me your address I will forward my e-mail to you, so you can forward it to the people you know. In this way we can spread this young ladies words, and help her through the American Cancer Society.
I will not use your address for anything other than forwarding her e-mail and poem. If you find I am using them in any other way you can turn me into the e-mail police. There address would be email@police .com. Not really, but just throwing in a little humor.
I clearly wish all of you a happy day and my you always choose happiness for your life. If you need help in finding the secret to happiness just email me and let me know how I can be of serves to you.

I’m writing an article about cancer, which is what I was initially researching when I clicked on your post. There are so many health concerns out there that people are dealing with, I did not know! This is high-quality information, thank you very much.
Knowledge leads to life in many forums. We need to take care of the body and the mind. Getting those checkup from the doctor and keeping a positive attitude make a world of difference.
Thanks Jenny and may you be blessed with happiness.
