I totally agree with you.  We can and should not over protect our children.  they do have to learn many things on there own.  
We can always be there for them if they fall and need us.  The key is to know when to be there if they need us.

		<description>Loving of our children and protecting them from harm is our main duty as parents. However, too much of anything or something is not healthy and not good. We have to remember that for our children to learn by themselves is for them to explore the environment by themselves. We should not limit their learning by over protecting them and by not allowing them to go outside and play.</description>

After reviewing my post what is important is to let kids be kids and stop trying to by there happiness, but enjoy what nature  provides a little more.  Material things do not by happiness.
