Happiness Within Brings Peace and Health
By Debbie BillsHappiness affects so many different areas in our lives, that is why it is very important to find this middle ground called happiness.
Let’s talk first about the peace you can find with happiness and how we can get there.
Peace in the Wikipedia encyclopedia state: Peace (symbol: ☮) is a term that most commonly refers to an absence of hostility, but which also represents a larger concept wherein there are healthy or newly-healed interpersonal or international relationships, safety in matters of social or economic welfare, the acknowledgment of equality and fairness in political relationships and, in world matters, peacetime; a state of being absent of any war or conflict. Reflection on the nature of peace is also bound up with considerations of the causes for its absence or loss. Among these potential causes are: insecurity, social injustice, economic inequality, political and religious radicalism, and acute nationalism.
Take a look at the words of this definition that are close to home, like insecurity. Insecurity can affect our lives daily. When we are talking with friends, co-workers or family this plays a big part in our everyday life. We all have them, some more than other, but they are something that can be overcome. And those insecurities can make or break anyone’s day if we let them. The key is not to let them.
Let me give you an example of this; on Labor Day our daughters came over for the holiday. After a few hours one of them decided they needed to go home. It was 3:30 in the afternoon. I’m thinking, “What did you come over for if you’re leaving at 3:30 in the afternoon, since it took her 45 minutes to come over anyway”. She didn’t like my response in this situation and proceeded to get upset with me. If I let insecurities get in my way, I would have folded and apologized for my reaction, etc. Since I didn’t do this she is not calling me as she always did before this happened! I am at peace with the way I handled this situation, so her not calling does not affect my day or days in this situation.
You have to learn to be secure in your decisions, know that how you are feeling about something or a situation is ok. You have a right to your emotions and if someone doesn’t agree with them that is there decision or problem, not yours. After all life would be pretty boring if we all had the same feeling and emotions.
It is so important to feel secure with yourself. This helps everyone make better decisions in their life. Friends you pick will be picked because they enhance your life. Partners you pick are going to be for the right reasons, not just because you want a partner and will settle for the first thing that comes your way.
Peace within yourself gives you happiness within, because you believe in yourself. Always remember one very important thing: “GOD DOESN’T MAKE JUNK.” Don’t make junk of whom and what you are. There is no one else in the world like you and that makes you SPECIAL IN EVER WAY.
In return for having peace of mind your health will be better. The mind is a wonderful thing; use it to its fullest and CHOOSE TO BE HAPPY.
May you all find Peace and happiness with
Debbie Dee
