WHY SOME PEOPLE ARE NOT HAPPY…AND OTHER ARE VERY HAPPY…

Is it there lack of money or is it just plan discontentment?  I believe THAT THE MORE MONEY WE HAVE THE MORE DISCONTENT WE CAN BE.

In 1923 eight of the most powerful money magnates gather in Chicago, Illinois.  In this group were:  Charles Schwab, president of a steel company; Richard Whitney, president of the New York Stock Exchange;  Arthur Cutton, a wheat speculator; Albert Fall was a presidential cabinet member, a personally wealthy man; Jesse Livermore was the greatest Wall Street “bear” in his generation.  Leon Fraser was the president of the International Bank of Settlements and Ivan Krueger headed the largest monopoly in the nation.

What do you think happened to these very wealthy men in later years? Schwab died penniless, Whhitney served a life sentence in Sing Sing Prison; Cutton became insolvent.  Fall was pardoned from a federal prison so he might die at home.  Fraser, Livermore and Krueger committed suicide.  Seven of the riches men in the world ended their lives with nothing.

Money is certainly not the answer to contentment, wouldn’t you say? Here we have 8 very wealth men that should be on top of the world.  They can buy anything they wish, do anything they want or feel like doing, so why did they end up broke, in prison or committing suicide? With all there money they still were not content and to be happy you have to be content in your life and with your life. You have to be content with the day you are in, not past or present, but were you are at any given moment in time.

Now is the perfect time to find happy and contentment in the little things.  With the financial world like it is today we need to concentrate on the little things in life, because as I have shown you with examples of these 8 men, money is not the answer for happiness.

You maybe worried about your job.  When we worry it stops us from being creative.  Maybe there is a better door that is going to open up for you.  Just maybe you never really liked that job anyway, now you can do what you always wanted to do.  Work should be fun, not just a way to make money.  Live to work not work to live. When we live to work we enjoy what we are doing.  When we work to live we can’t wait until Friday and Monday really sucks.

You maybe worried about how your mortgage is going to be paid.  Guess what listen to the news, maybe there is help out there.

What ever your worries are look around you and enjoy what is in front of you today.  You never know when things are going to chance and what you cherish today may not be there tomorrow.

To not make the mistake of waiting to be happy when the car or home is paid off or you get a new car or home.  Until your kids leave home or until you finish school.  Do not wait until the house is clean, the garage is organized, your desk is clean off and the kids are in bed.  Do not wait until you lose 10lbs., until you get married or divorced or even until you have kids.  Do not make up excuses like when I retire or it is summer, spring, winter or fall or even when I die.

There is no better time than now to be happy.  Happiness is a great journey, not a destination.  Go work like you don’t need the money.  Love like you’ve never been hurt and dance like know one is watching.  LEARN TO DANCE IN THE RAIN. You’ll love it

Now is the time to free your heart of hate, clear your mind of worry, live simple, give more and expect less.  You will find happy…

If I have missed something on this Happy… journey, please enlighten me.

Every day is a fresh new life, a fresh new start, and a fresh new chance.  Don’t get upset or angry by past events, and try not to dwell on things that you cannot change  Your whole life can turn around in a day, so feel free to start every morning with a positive outlook.  As you wash you face in the morning, think of it as a baptism.  Clean off the debris from yesterday, while welcoming the freshness of today.

Have a Happy…Day Everday

Money really has no bearing on happiness, as happiness is a choice, a decision or way of life. You have to chose to be happy and no searching for it or anything in life can bring it. Those people are actually happiest in the search, so it continues to drive them instead of being content and grateful and happy with how things are. Good advice here, I hope I’ve added a bit more to the article.

I remember some advice I was given a few years back about work…”If you would do you work for no money in return, then you are truly happy in your work”.

    I always remember that.

I love that thought Andrew. My Father has always told me, “If you love something with a passion – you’ll find a way to do it as your profession.” It’s certainly true. I’d much rather do my passion for work – versus sitting at a desk doing something I hate, day in and day out. I never want that to be my path. I choose happiness! :)

Andrew does practice what he says. I spent sometime with him last year and he truly does love what he does. And I might add that he is very good at it. My blog would probably be a mess if it wasn’t for him LOL

Thank you for your comment and glad that you choose happiness, it is after all the only way in my book.
        Blessing to you,
        Debbie

    Hi debbie!

I think one of the most important indicators of happiness is family. Based on my experience, when you are experiencing family problem, it seems that you are not in the mood always, and sad most of the time. So, it is important to resolve all family conflicts if you can, because it is a hindrance towards happiness. :)

      Hi Luis,

You are right family is one of the indicators of happiness. It is very important to resolve all family conflicts. If we don’t take the time to do this when those conflicts come up they just build until the relationship breaks. Life is to short to let those little things go unresolved. thank you for stopping by and I tried to click on your link, but am getting an error message. Would love to check out your site.
      Blessing to you,

Totally awesome article. Happiness is an inside job not an outside one. I have found gratitude to be necessary for happiness. The more I am grateful for the happier I seem to be and gratitude is something I can choose to practice.

    Jon :-)

    • Debbie Bills says:

      Hi Jon,

Yes, I too believe that gratitude is a big part of happiness. when we are grateful for what we have we stop searching for material things to make us happy. And we all know that you can not find happiness in the material things in this world. They may give us a jolt of happiness for a while, but it does not last.
Thank you for sharing you thoughts and how you found your happiness.
      Blessing always,
      Debbie
